Accurate feedback leads to well-being of the pig
Van Rooi Meat puts care and attention into a quick and correct settlement of supplied animals. Farmers receive a fully specified overview of the supplied quantity and quality. In this overview, feedback with regard to findings when slaughtering is of the utmost importance. In this way, the farmer gets some insight in his actions. Was the pig overfed? Was the pig too fat? Upon inspecting the pleura, can we assume the ventilation was good? Did his deworming work? Were his legs infected, perhaps due to the grids in the stables? This kind of information gives the supplier insight in the well-being of the pig.
Development of a special program
In order to get this insight, Agrovision developed a slaughter analysis program for Van Rooi Meat. The recipient of the report, the farmer, can act accordingly by, for example, responding to the veterinarian or the feed supplier. The developed program is based on a program that is already widely used in the compound feed sector. The new version, used by Van Rooi Meat, is specially adapted to the slaughterhouse industry.
Making comparisons, determining strategy
A day after the preparation of the bill, the farmer can find the financial and technical information online. Furthermore, he can compare all information from the various supplies. Using the program, he can make selections based on weight, fat/muscle, lean meat percentage, price, and other criteria. This information helps the farmer to determine the right supply strategy.
