From lean to fat: transparent process at purchase
So many people, so many wishes. This applies to consumers, but also to business customers. One wants a half-centimeter thick belly bacon while the other prefer a little bit more. After the slaughter, each pig is weighed and placed into classes.
Eighty percent of all meat van Rooi Meat slaughters is derived from its own pig farmers. The purchasing and processing process is 4 x NL: bred, grown, slaughtered and produced in the Netherlands. In the slaughter process we give each animal a unique number. With this number we can not only deduce the origin of the pig, but also which supplier supplied the pig. This allows us to pay the farmer correctly and in time.
Central Reliability
In the purchasing process, we check whether the farmer has delivered as per the agreed arrangements. Does the meat meet the specific requirements, for example, Milieukeur or Varken van Morgen? This way we can closely monitor the quality and durability of the meat. Reliability is a key feature in this process. Not only for the consumer, but also to the supplier. When we reach an agreement, we stick to the agreement. This is the red line we continuously follow which eventually establishes a long-term relationship.
